Please note that you do not need to have played any of the previous gamebooks in order to play this.

"The mighty city of Falavia, the military backbone of Orlandes, is under attack from an army lead by a man claiming to be a God. How did this come to pass you ask yourself? Youre sure it all started as some innocent adventure in search of treasure but somehow it turned into a nightmare. Also, why are people staring at you strangely? It’s not as if you look like youve recently been brought back from the dead or something. Oh yes, thats right. You remember now... "

‎"Arguably the best of the Gamebook Adventure series released so far by Tin Man Games, Revenant Rising combines polished gameplay mechanics with an original storyline, flinging you between the world of the living and the dead and back again. Stylish graphics only add to the atmosphere to be enjoyed both on the iPhone and the iPad." - Touch My Apps

"My favourite examples so far though are the iPad and iPhone-compatible Gamebook Adventures, a series of lovingly crafted and extremely well-written interactive fantasy novels. Its surprisingly engrossing stuff, the economically written narrative packing in masses of detail, while rattling out a pacy, involving story." - The Guardian

"The true gem, and the reason these are next iteration choose your own adventure books, is the dice component in the overall story." - 148Apps

Pros and cons of Gamebook Adventures 4: Revenant Rising app for iPhone and iPad

Gamebook Adventures 4: Revenant Rising app good for

I wasnt big on the music but the story was fun and the game system well designed. Some typos that irked me.
First time reading/playing a book/game. I enjoyed it a lot. My wife and I did it together and took turns making decisions. There was a few typos but it didnt take away from the story. Very well written and lots of story paths to chose from. I will try another book for shore.
It felt like I was a kid reading a cyoa from the library! Awesome. It took me a couple of lives to make it through, so good value. The writing was a bit off at times and typos were fairly common. However, I had a lot of fun with it. Fantasy isnt my genre but Id love to do a gamebook in sci fi or horror.
As a major player/reader of CYOA, VNs, and Gamebooks I can say that this is both well done and a particularly interesting story. Highly recommended.
This book is not that great as previous GA:s both in terms of rude illustration, and almost-non-Orlando-realm related story line. Intro part is quite trivial and linear (even when you think that you have a choice), then things gets much more exciting. Last bad thing is triple stamina check in the very end, but dont worry - you have to pass just first one, nothing else matter...
When you get on the bad side of the necromancer, betrayal and murder are just the beginning. A solid adventure, a lot of fun, some wrong turns and some surprises. Couldnt ask for a lot more. Except maybe some more healing. The combat system in these books is just brutal.

Some bad moments

A fantastic new addition to the Gamebook family. The app store really needs more developers serving up games that are this good. Totally addictive and highly entertaining. The battle system is so unique and well suited for the game and the story is so engaging. A must-have!
I have all three of the other apps these developers have and I absolutely love them all. If choose your own adventure books and D&D had a child... This is exactly what they would get. This particular one though has a few misspellings and I dont know why but they changed their pictures... Bring the old illustratore back pls, the new ones just look way too cartoon like. However, keep making these and I will defiantly keep buying them!
The storyline it full of surprises. The path is still a little narrow, but the good writing makes up for it.
This is a really fun adventure read with plenty of dead ends, but such a fun story that I MUST keep trying :)
Ive been following Gamebook Adventures for a while now, and I have to say that, although each of them are great apps, the first one was my favourite due to an amazing story. Well this book just replaced Assassin in that spot, the story is really engaging, original and keeps you at an edge of your seat during the whole playthrough. I only wish it could last a bit longer, some parts seem a bit rushed, but its still an amazing game and you should absolutely get it if you are a fan of the genre.
Took advantage of the sale and this was the only one from the series I was missing. I love the quality of the Gamebook Adventures series and have been a fan since the first one. Great job Tin Man Games! I just finished playing this gamebook adventure and I must say that it is one of the most enjoyable in the series. The story had a few good twists and a nice change of scenery as opposed to the blander dungeon crawling ones. I would say if you had to choose only one of the gamebook adventures, then this would be the one to choose! =]
